Two-of-a-kind
This work is in the context of Rotherhithe and the Docklands, engaging with its social and physical surroundings, critically questioning the status quo and the impact of the pandemic on the urban fabric and the community.
We were to design an exhibition space in two parts, engaging the local community from the street and inside the museum.
This Brief includes an Appetizer (Satellite Exhibition), showing the development of its design and the Main Course which is the Main Exhibition proposals.
Live-Work
In the process of this project we began by decoding what daily life looks like to design a proposal that speculates on the collision or coexistence between the two activities;
living and working.
We studied the site at Thames Tunnel Mills using existing floor plans and creating sections and elevations of the building. Due to pandemic lockdown restrictions, we were not able to visit the site physically. Instead we learned to work from archival materials, Digimaps, and street view
photography to create a comprehensive survey.
